How does the doctor keep up to date on all of the current techniques and materials?

Dr. Warise and all of our other staff members take up to and beyond the required number of continuing education hours required by the Board of Dentistry. The field of dentistry is constantly changing and to keep up with the changes we feel it is important to have all of the knowledge we can so we can continue to serve our patients with the best information and materials available.

How do I know when it is time to come in for a checkup?

We realize that people are busy with their daily lives, so we send out reminder postcards when you are due for your checkup and professional cleaning. We also give you a courtesy call the day before to confirm your appointment.

At what age should my children first see a dentist?

We usually start seeing children on a regular basis between the ages of 2 and 4. However, if you have concerns or notice a problem, we recommend bringing your child in no matter what his/her age. Baby teeth are just as important as his/her adult teeth. We suggest bringing your child with you to your own appointments so that he/she can see how we work and what fun it can be. We have a treasure box for the kids and also have a few staff members who are trained animal balloon makers!

I have a temporary crown in my mouth. What happens when it comes off or breaks?

Call our office immediately. We will schedule you as soon as possible to replace your temporary crown. If you call our office after regular business hours, follow the prompts on the voice mail and we will promptly return your phone call. Our doctors are on call 24 hours a day in the event of such an emergency.

My child has had an accident and his/her tooth has been entirely knocked out. What do I do?

The best thing to do is to gently place the tooth back in position if it will go, then call us immediately. Time can play a big factor in whether a tooth can be saved or not.

What different payment options do you provide?

We offer a variety of payment options. We accept cash, checks, major credit cards and debit cards. We provide a cash courtesy discount for those who prefer to pay for their treatment at their first visit. If you have insurance, we will also file your insurance claim for you and can give you an estimate on your portion.

How can I safely whiten my teeth?

Our office offers several options for you to safely whiten your teeth. Our most popular is the take-home treatment that you do yourself in the privacy of your own home. The take-home treatment can take up to two weeks, depending on your teeth. There are a variety of cosmetic procedures available in our office that can be done as well. We recommend a full exam and professional cleaning before any whitening. At the exam, we will be happy to discuss the different whitening options available.

My gums bleed after I brush. Is this something to be concerned with? Do I really have to floss?

YES! Bleeding gums are the first stage of periodontal (gum) disease. If you notice a problem when brushing or flossing, consulting us may prevent further damage to your teeth and gums. Flossing helps prevent bleeding as well as decay. It is important to follow your oral hygiene instructions that we have specifically individualized for your teeth and gums to help prevent gum or other problems.

I want my front teeth to look better, but I do not want to wear braces. What would you recommend?

There are several options available, from cosmetic recontouring to veneers. An all-porcelain restoration can change the shape, correct alignment and whiten your teeth to give you the beautiful, natural smile you have always wanted. Call us for a free consultation appointment so we can design a treatment plan to fit your needs and to explain what is right for you.
